Wow, I really have been exceptionally quiet on the blog front, lately, haven’t I?
Which is interesting, because as busy as I feel I’ve been over the past week, it was NOTHING compared to how busy I am going to be next week.
As of tomorrow, I have three jobs. Yes, you heard me right – THREE. In addition to working in my old office most afternoons, I will also be working night shift doing data entry at a Government agency; as well as distributing and collecting census forms on the side.
I’m crazy right? I don’t know exactly what I was thinking, or how I’ll cope, but I’m going to give it a shot. The work at my old office won’t be available forever, as eventually they’re going to need someone who can work full time, and the census stuff was too good to pass up – and is obviously also temporary. The government job didn’t come at a great time, but was also too good an opportunity to pass up – although the work is only casual, it’s easy, and it pays great. And, as with most public service, it might provide other valuable opportunities in the future.
So I apologise in advance if the blog takes a bit of a hit in the next few months – I won’t forget about it completely (promise), but it’s not going to get the love it deserves.
On a completely unrelated note, any book lovers out there who don’t already have one, need to get a Kindle. No, this is not a sponsored post (how cool would that be?! Ha), but I got one recently, and it’s seriously the coolest thing since sliced bread. Several people expressed to me their disappointment at it’s lack of backlight, but to me, it’s one of the things which make it great. It is so much like reading an actual book, that I literally licked my finger to turn the page. More than once. Somehow they’ve managed to make the screen look like paper, and you can read for hours without getting a headache. Not to mention the endless supply of books at the touch of a finger – the latest model has 3G connectivity, which means that as long as you have money in your Amazon account, you can look up and download any book you fancy, at any time of the day. Brilliant. I could go on and on, but I’m going to stop there. It’s brilliant.
On yet another unrelated note, Ella now has 2.5 teeth. The top left was the first to appear, and has her looking like Cletus the slack jawed yokel (but cuter), and the bottom two are well on their way. It’s unfortunate that her first two teeth should be the same tooth, top and bottom, which has led to her developing a grinding habit. *Shudder*
Today she has also started waving and clapping, which is ridiculously cute. If I knew how to add a video to my blog, I totally would. You’d die.
